As an intern for the Austin American-Statesman, I focused on creating digital content for both the main website and Austin 360, a vertical focused on music, food and arts. My work included writing social media posts and contributing to larger projects, including SXSW coverage and a reader-generated content series.

Asking Questions through Hearken
As an intern, I re-launched Austin Answered, a project soliciting questions from readers about local and community news. My articles answering the questions were published online and in print in the paper's metro section.

Unofficial Party Guide
I was one of two contributors to the Statesman's largest unofficial party database for South by Southwest (SXSW), an annual music and film festival in Austin, TX. I filled the detailed database with more than 560 entries, which included detailed descriptions of the event, prices, location and times.

Reporting + Social Media
Along with writing social media posts and daily online-only articles for the Statesman's website, I also contributed to coverage of trending news, arts and culture for the Statesman and Austin360 while working as an intern. My bylines can be found here.
