My reporting has focused on K-12 and higher education, breaking news and Texas state politics. My bylines have appeared in The Texas Tribune, the Houston Chronicle, the Austin American-Statesman, USA Today and various other news publications.
The Texas Tribune
K-12 Education Reporter
I report on public education issues facing millions of Texas students and families, including state takeovers of local school districts. I also contribute to coverage of statewide K-12 issues and policies proposed by Texas lawmakers, the Texas Education Agency and the State Board of Education. You can find an excerpt of my coverage here or all of my bylines here.
Houston Chronicle
Senior Education Reporter
In this role, I covered Houston ISD — one of the nation's largest school districts — for Houston's daily newspaper. I reported stories on topics such as the state takeover of the district, the superintendent's implementation of the "New Education System" and community pushback to several policy changes. You can find an excerpt of my articles here and all of my bylines here.
